Hello Malaysia!

Look – its the Petronas towers! Excited to be back in the good city of Kuala Lumpur. 😎

Today I’m wearing my favorite piece from Topshop this season – the sleeveless belted duster.

Its essentially a great layering piece, and will easily get you through the seasons. Dress it up, dress it down, its your choice. Its so versatile!

Colorful Resolutions

So have your 2015 resolutions kicked in yet? Mine did today – and that is to wear color.

I had a sneaky suspicion that wasnt ever going to be a successful thing to do from the moment the thought of it entered my head…but try I must!

What do you think? 😂❤️

Follow me on IG if you havent, let me know you read the blog and i’ll follow back! 💋

Soooo I spent a few days in Bali two weeks ago for some sun sand and sea time. I came back questioning why I don’t come back every year. (Hah! 2015 bucketlist, check!)

I forgot how beautiful twilight and sunsets were over there! Every evening was a painting of the marriage of red and orange, beginning and end, light and dark. It was completely magical.

W Bali was pretty amazing, not to forget the photo opportunities at the resort. Some pictures have already been published on instagram @justabitcliche so I’m just going to share them here again! Enjoy them and til then, have a very merry Christmas!!

What I wore:
Purple Diane Bon Furstenberg dress
Free people tiered dress
DKNY maxi skirt
Zalora cape

Givenchy in the woods

Today is about running around in Givenchy.

I have a serious shoe fetish and while nothing quite makes my heart race like a shiny pointy stiletto pump, I have to woefully admit… I’m not big on wearing them every other day! I guess you can blame my 5’8 height for that, or well, you can blame my unrivalled dedication to flat shoes. 😬
Step into my shoe closet though and you’ll see rows and rows of heels that I have acquired…..as furniture. (Well tbh, they do make great mantlepieces!)

So anyway today I decided to give these Givenchy babies a spin, under a navy blue smart sleeveless blazer (so thats another thing i’m obsessed about) and a cute striped skirt. And to get that color pop – a bright red Chanel clutch!

Jakarta, Indonesia

I spent the past week in Jakarta so I decided to write a blogpost on street fashion. I’ve been here a few times before and its good to be back. Plus, this city is pretty huge and so populated that theres always something interesting for a tourist to see!

The weather is similar to Singapore – humid, hot and if you’re unlucky the haze can get pretty bad a few times a year. I packed alot of basics and dresses that were thin.

Here are two outfits I wore in Jakarta. From Keepsake The Label and Dorothy Perkins.

Coincidentally, Victoria Beckham was also in town to launch her accessories line with On Pedder at Plaza Indonesia! What can I say, I have never seen a lady so poised, fabulously gloomy (you know the kind that works), and well, so proper!
Check out her amazing collection at victoriabeckham.com. The capsule is very structured and to-the-point, fuss-free yet exceeding luxurious that I could sniff the buffalo leather just from looking at it from afar. My personal favourite is the Quincy bag. And if you pop by instagram, you’ll see a new addition which is the mirrored aviators by Victoria Beckham.

I came across this local designer in a mall and absolutely thought its just the perfect photo for this post! Its a twist on the pin-up dress with a very traditional Indonesian print called the Batik. I love how the designer combined old and new, east and west.

Jakarta has some really talented designers and you can always sense the Indonesian roots in their designs like the batik print and other traditional arts. They are in love with their culture and its so refreshing to see. With its large Muslim population, Jakarta is a leading nation for modest fashion with style inspirations from celebrities, bloggers and local designers.

Jakarta’s everyday street fashion is mostly laid-back, but when you start appearing at store openings or fashion events, the fashion wolves come out dripping in designer labels. During my two week stay, it was not uncommon to spot the ever rare and luxurious limited edition Hermes Himalaya Birkin – which I believe starts from 70 000USD. The gap between the haves and have-nots is pretty massive in Jakarta, being a tourist and a girl from Singapore with everything so manicured and neat, being driven in a Jakarta cab through the slums and into a luxury mall really opens up your eyes about the disparity of living standards. Hence, it was pretty difficult to snap photos of personal style in the streets of Jakarta and while I have bumped into people with interesting outfits, they were pretty private and not big on being photographed!

However, I managed to make some new friends. While shopping in H&M for their Conscious line, I met two kind ladies (who were shopping during lunch!) didn’t mind to be photographed in their ‘office wear’!

Corporate wear is much more relaxed, particularly due to the humidity. For the ladies who don the headscarf over here, they tend to go for the brighter colour palettes for their daily outfit. Somehow I think it always works because the hijab is sort of like the finishing touch to the whole outfit – you can seal up your whole look with the headscarf. It’s kind of like shoes – you choose it as the last step of getting ready, or you build an outfit around it!

If I could sum up Jakarta this picture of the ladies would be it. Indonesians are one of the kindest, and humble people I’ve ever met and 70% of the ladies dress like this. One thing is for sure, what they wear is a really big smile, and that’s just perfect.

Hollywood in my hybrid outfit!

This is the closest I have been to the sign, and I was pretty excited on the drive up there. Absolutely loved cruising through the curvy roads up and down the hills in my ford mustang with the top down especially because in March the weather in LA is pretty amazing! Its hot – and I mean really hot it can burn you when you’re in the open sun but yet again, the winds can get a little naughty near the coast (thats when you wish you didn’t have shorts on!)

To the Hollywood sign, the weather was pretty much in between. Pretty windy and then hot and then chilly. I was ready to leave our hotel, Mondrian, in just a dress but I just grabbed on a sweater just in case. And I was happy I did! 😀

Here I’m wearing a dress by Three Floor with a cropped sweater of a similar shade over it and I think it looks great! This dress can do the double-duty, which is awesome. Hello bang for your buck!

Here is what the dress looks like on its own, snapped with my iPhone 5s in Malibu at sunset.

I’m such a huge fan of Three Floor. The brand is so energetic, refreshing and a real game changer when it comes to dressing like a lady. It gives the ladylike look a loaded gun. What I love most about Three Floor is plainly the fabric, oh my god, the fabric. Plus, they make clothes that make it look awesome either way – if you’re dressing up (good for you) or like me if you prefer to dress it down you can do so by putting on a pair of flats without the outfit looking like its out of place.(yes ladies it all works out in your favour!)

If you’re looking to purchase an edgy (I hate to throw around such a cliche word but that’s all i have right now) dress for prom, or if you’re going as a wedding guest (on second note, beware all eyes on you instead) or you know, if you’re just like me, buying just because the stuffs look pretty damn amazing – look to Three Floor. I’m totally sure you’ll find something you need to click “Add to Cart” in about two seconds.
