Miss Saigon

Last week, I was in Vietnam for five days, in Ho Chi Minh City (better known as Saigon) to be exact.
My first impression was wow – this place is authentically..european. French to be exact.
Nothing has changed since the last time I visited Saigon in 2012, and that sorta worked in my favor because during the previous trip I discovered the best crepe joint for dessert, and a great italian place! If its not obvious yet, I love food! ✌️

But that tune will change soon because I am going on a no-carb diet. I’ll be blogging about it at the end of every week, just to show you how I make it thru (or didnt make it, who knows, its up for debate!) 😂

But i’m positively excited about it! Are you on a special diet? Share with me!

For now..let me share some pictures I took I in Vietnam.

That was at the Notredame cathedral and the bricks were vandalised with random names(albeit beautifully to me). Lots of history with this church! Loved the walls alot.

These ones below are taken along the main streets of Saigon! Truly the simple life, I do envy some aspects of it. Its definitely a booming country with lots of potential and its also super duper interesting because people who have a war history with this country want to come back here for some kind of closure. I heard that the average age is under 30! I mean, wow!

Colorful Resolutions

So have your 2015 resolutions kicked in yet? Mine did today – and that is to wear color.

I had a sneaky suspicion that wasnt ever going to be a successful thing to do from the moment the thought of it entered my head…but try I must!

What do you think? 😂❤️

Plaid shirt days

This is easily, quite frankly, hands down my favorite casual style. This is probably what you would find me wearing almost every weekend. Its so easy and comfort ranks very high on my list.

I love a good novelty tshirt, and Kenzo makes some of the best ones, in fact I have 4 of these tshirts in different colors (hoarder alert!).

What I love best is just throwing on a plaid shirt over it. Its my preferred “jacket” if you may. Its casual, its functional (if it gets cold) (or if it gets too humid you tie it around your waist – that look is properly legit now) and well, it just looks more…cool than just wearing a tshirt. I’ve always been a person that feels thoroughly incomplete just wearing a tshirt and jeans. Somewhere in my heart of hearts it just felt… wrong. I needed something more…You know, I need the 💪 in my outfits! I love that it sort of emphasises the motif and the color of your tshirt even more than when you wear it on its own.

Its a tricky business choosing plaid shirts and thats part of the reason I dont have that many yet. Theres always the danger of looking a little too lumberjacky or too country. I think the trick is in the shades of color and the pattern of the squares on it..i think!

I hope everyones having a great Christmas with your loved ones! Are we ready for 2015? 😁✌️
